Tire Rotation and Wheel Alignment

Tires are essential for safety, and RocketTown is a perfect place to find discount tires. Once you have new tires, though, how do you best maintain them?

Two important ways to keep your tires rolling are tire rotation and wheel alignment.

Tire Rotation

Depending where your tires are on your car, they will wear differently. Tire rotation means moving tires from back to front or left to right so they wear evenly over time.

Rotating your tires results in a smooth ride, longer life for your tires and even wear of your tires.

According to Honda, this is the best way to rotate tires:

Wheel Alignment

Look at your tires. If you see that they are wearing unevenly, it is likely your wheels are not aligned. Or, if your ride is feeling bumpy or loud, your tires could be out of alignment.

Your wheels can get out of alignment if you hit a curb, drive over pot holes or go over bumps regularly. As your vehicle is jostled around, the wheels will begin to point in or out instead of straight ahead.

Even a small shift in alignment will wear your tires. When they do not point straight down the road, the inside or outside of your wheel will be dragging on the road as you drive forward. This wears down the inside or outside of your tire, depending on how it is misaligned. Unfortunately, if alignment goes uncorrected and the inside or outside of your tire is too worn, your tires will have to be replaced.

Help your tires live a long and happy life. Check alignment at least every six months. Make an appointment below to get started.
